Friederike Heumann - viola da gamba, lirone
Friederike Heumann studied viola da gamba at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jordi Savall and Paolo Pandolfo, graduating with a soloist diploma in early music. She now tours the world as a soloist and with her ensemble "Stylus Phantasticus." Her numerous award-winning CD recordings are regularly acclaimed by international critics. Friederike Heumann teaches viola da gamba and consort at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, as well as at numerous international masterclasses. In the summer semester of 2020, she was appointed Professor of Historical String Chamber Music and Viola da Gamba at the University of Music Würzburg. She is a jury member at international early music competitions.
Course Description
This course is aimed at music students and trained gamba players, advanced amateurs, and, by arrangement, also modern string players who wish to explore historically informed performance practice. ... Solo repertoire: all stylistic periods relevant to the viola da gamba; Consort repertoire and chamber music: chamber music in England around 1680-1760, as well as English, Italian, and German consort music.
