Bernhard Forck has devoted himself to the violin since he was five years old. After studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Professor Eberhard Feltz, he was engaged in the Berlin Symphony Orchestra in 1986, both accompanied by a pronounced interest in early music, which led him to work with Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Mozarteum Salzburg. His membership in the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin (Akamus), founded in 1982, where he is one of the concert masters, is a consequence of his intensive involvement with historical performance practice. With Akamus, Bernhard Forck regularly makes guest appearances in the musical centres of Europe. He toured the Middle East, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, North and South America. For many years Bernhard Forck worked closely with the Handel Festival Orchestra Halle, from 2007 to 2019 he was its musical director. In 1995 he founded the Manon Quartet Berlin in order to devote himself to later music, especially the Neue Wiener Schule. Numerous pedagogical commitments, e. g. at the Hanns Eisler University of Music Berlin, round off his diverse activities.
