Born Lau - viola

Born Lau studied with Roberto Diaz, Paul Coletti and Richard Fleischman and performs regularly as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles in various formations. He has won several prizes at international music competitions such as the Primrose International Viola Competition and the Astral National Auditions, and has been invited to play as concertmaster of the violas with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

Recent performances as a chamber musician and soloist include concerts with the Tokyo String Quartet, the Trondheim Soloists, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2019, Born Lau was appointed Associate Professor at the China Conservatory in Beijing and has been invited to attend master classes at international music festivals and universities in the USA, Australia, Asia and Europe, including the Verbier Festival in Switzerland, the Kuhmo Music Festival in Finland, the Perlman Music Program. Numerous CD recordings prove his international career.
