Jakob Lindberg

Lute | Theorbo | Baroque guitar

Jakob Lindberg was born in Djursholm, Sweden, and learned to play the guitar and lute there when he was 14. After studying music at the university of Stockholm, he improved his knowledge of the lute repertoire at the Royal College of Music in London under Diana Poulton. He is now one of the world's best known lute players; his many CD recordings include prizewinning first recordings of rare pieces. Since 1979 he has been teaching as a professor at the Royal College of Music in London.

Course description
This master course for lute, theorbo and baroque guitar is aimed at musicians who are especially interested in renaissance or baroque music and wish to work on their style, technique and performance. The participants may freely choose their works, the only condition being that the compositions must date from the period 1500 - 1780.
